Not every gift makes headlines. But every gift reaches a plate — and in 2024 and 2025, Bay Area Meals on Wheels has been sustained by a quiet, steady stream of support from donors and organizations across the Clear Lake community and beyond.

Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund — $9,750

In June 2024, BAMOW received a $9,750 gift directed through the Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund — a donor-advised fund that allows individuals to support the causes they care about through their Fidelity charitable account. The donor chose to remain anonymous. Their generosity funded more than 2,300 hot meals for homebound neighbors.

Donor-advised fund gifts are a meaningful and increasingly common way to give. If you have a DAF through Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard, or another institution, Bay Area Meals on Wheels can receive gifts from any of them. Get in touch to learn how.

Hand Family Foundation — $2,500

In September 2025, the Hand Family Foundation awarded BAMOW a grant of $2,500. At $4.20 per meal, the gift funds close to 600 hot meals — more than two months of deliveries for a single homebound client who might otherwise go without.

We are grateful for the Hand Family Foundation’s confidence in our work and their support of neighbors across the Clear Lake area.

Bay Area Republican Women — “Caring for America”

For several years running, the Bay Area Republican Women have directed a portion of their charitable giving to Bay Area Meals on Wheels through their “Caring for America” program. Under the program, a $25 donation is made in honor of the speaker at each monthly meeting. In 2025 alone, those monthly contributions added up to nearly $2,800.

The ongoing nature of the relationship — meeting after meeting, speaker after speaker — reflects a sustained community commitment that goes beyond a one-time gift. We are grateful to every member of Bay Area Republican Women who has made this possible.

A wide and generous community

Taken together, these three sources contributed more than $15,000 to Bay Area Meals on Wheels in 2024 and 2025 — funding thousands of meals and demonstrating that a small, all-volunteer organization can be supported by a wide and generous community.

BAMOW has no paid staff and no fundraising overhead. Every dollar given reaches a plate. If you give through a donor-advised fund, belong to a civic group looking for a recipient, or simply want to learn more about how to support the work, we’d love to hear from you.
