The Isla Carroll Turner Friendship Trust has awarded Bay Area Meals on Wheels a grant of $10,000 in support of our work delivering hot meals to homebound seniors and adults with disabilities across South Harris and North Galveston counties.

At $4.20 per meal, the gift funds more than 2,300 hot meals — nearly two months of daily deliveries for a portion of the neighbors BAMOW serves.

The Isla Carroll Turner Friendship Trust is a longstanding Houston-area philanthropic foundation committed to supporting charitable work across the greater Houston-Galveston community. Their investment in Bay Area Meals on Wheels reflects a shared belief that no neighbor should go without food or human connection — regardless of age or mobility.

For an organization powered entirely by volunteers, grants like this one make it possible to say yes to every neighbor who calls. There are no waitlists at BAMOW. The community gives, and the community shows up.

Across a year, BAMOW delivers more than 21,000 hot meals, 10,000 bag lunches, and 5,000 weekend meals — reaching close to 200 individuals, every one of them in their own home, every one of them with a volunteer at the door.

We are grateful to the Isla Carroll Turner Friendship Trust for their generosity and for standing behind the work being done at front doors across the Clear Lake area every weekday.
